Job description
The Sr. Cloud Engineer plays a critical role in driving all infrastructure initiatives within Engineering, directly influencing how we design, deploy, monitor, and maintain software systems in production. In this position, you will partner closely with application teams to shape system architecture and ensure seamless execution. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to influence a major transformation to modernize and build principles and discipline into an established tech stack including both microservices and high-throughput, transactional systems, while contributing meaningfully to the long-term success of the organization., * Build tools that make every engineer more productive and enable self-service.
- Develop a unified system for monitoring, logging and error handling.
- Design and implement complex, distributed, scalable, and observable systems.
- Define and implement golden paths and best practices for cloud infrastructure.
- Learn and teach others the intricacies of our tech stack.
- Improve our infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Work with each team to optimize their application performance.
- Search for industry best practices and use them to drive our team forward.
- Work with application teams and vendors to optimize cloud costs.
- Develop skills and approaches for introducing AI into the SDLC.
- Provide concrete feedback on human and AI contributions to our infrastructure codebases.
- Raise the quality and efficiency bar in the cloud team and across engineering.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and remediate production issues for always-on, revenue-impacting systems.
- Improve monitoring and system resiliency to maximize reliability and minimize the need for human intervention.
Requirements
We employ a wide variety of technologies here at TripleLift to accomplish our goals. While we are looking for strong engineers that are capable of learning any system, we will prioritize candidates who are already familiar with the some of the following technologies:
- Infrastructure as Code tools: Terraform, Terragrunt, ArgoCD, Helm, Kustomize
- Observability tooling: Grafana, OpenTelemetry, PagerDuty
- Cluster services: Kubernetes, Nomad
- Other tools: Vault, Consul, Puppet, GitHub Actions
- Databases: AeroSpike, RDS MySQL/Postgres
- Data streaming: Kafka/RedPanda, Kafka Connect
- Data processing: Spark, dbt, Databricks, Snowflake, Fivetran, AWS EMR
- 1+ scripting language such as Python or bash
- 1+ general purpose, compiled language such as Java, Scala, or Golang
- Amazon Web Services, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or comparable industry experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or developer in the past
- Excellent understanding of common data structures and algorithms
- Understanding of cloud technologies like EC2, RDS, S3
- Enjoys programming and automating repetitive work
- Strives for continued learning opportunities to build upon craft
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly and independently with minimal oversight
- Ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple tasks
- Able and willing to serve in an on-call rotation for the systems they build
- Desire to accept feedback and constructive criticism
- Strong and demonstrable work ethic
Benefits & conditions
US Jobs: The base salary range represents the low and high end of the TripleLift US salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of TripleLift’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include bonuses, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
Pay is based on various non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, and skills.

*Full-time employees are eligible for comprehensive benefits (subject to the terms of applicable plans/policies/agreements, which will be made available to you after commencing employment). Salary range transparency $130,000-$170,000 USD
