Job description

The Developer Advocate will connect with developers through technical expertise, community engagement, and practical education. This role combines hands-on knowledge of web technologies and APIs with public speaking, content creation, and relationship building. You will represent developer needs across conferences, meetups, webinars, podcasts, online communities, and industry events. You will create tutorials, demos, videos, code samples, and technical articles that make complex data and developer workflows easier to understand and adopt. You will also explore emerging technologies, including LLM-powered applications and AI agents, and demonstrate how reliable web data can support them. Working closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams, you will turn developer feedback into better tools, documentation, and experiences. Accountabilities:

  • Represent the organization at developer conferences, meetups, community events, podcasts, webinars, panels, and other relevant industry forums.
  • Identify and evaluate speaking, sponsorship, partnership, and community engagement opportunities that support strategic goals.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging technical talks, workshops, live demonstrations, webinars, and panel presentations for developer audiences.
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with developers, community leaders, event organizers, technology partners, and independent technical advocates.
  • Grow and support a network of external advocates who can share their experiences with web data, APIs, and related developer technologies.
  • Engage consistently with developers across social media, forums, events, open-source communities, and other relevant technical channels.
  • Create technical content, including tutorials, articles, videos, presentations, demonstrations, and code samples, to help developers understand and integrate available tools.
  • Demonstrate practical approaches to solving web scraping, data extraction, API integration, and web data challenges.
  • Write technical articles for company blogs and relevant third-party publications.
  • Identify opportunities to participate in and contribute to developer and open-source communities.
  • Represent the developer perspective within marketing and across the wider organization, ensuring community needs inform strategic decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve developer documentation and contribute directly to documentation enhancements.
  • Create and publish content for social channels that is relevant and valuable to technical audiences.
  • Explore emerging developer workflows, including LLM applications and AI agents, and demonstrate how web data can support practical AI-first solutions.
  • Track the impact of events, speaking engagements, partnerships, content, and community initiatives, using insights to improve future programs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in developer advocacy, developer relations, community engagement, or a related technical role.
  • Established and demonstrable following or presence within relevant developer or technical communities.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, APIs, web scraping, and data extraction.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Python.
  • Genuine interest in web data extraction and the technologies surrounding it.
  • Passion for working with developers and helping technical audiences learn, solve problems, and adopt new technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience delivering technical presentations or speaking publicly.
  • Proven experience working with developer communities, social media, blogging, or technical content creation.
  • Experience with community building and event hosting is an asset.
  • Self-motivated and self-reliant, with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative, distributed team.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to different audiences.
  • Experience with Scrapy, headless browsers, or web scraping technologies is a plus but not required.

Benefits & conditions

  • 100% remote work with the flexibility to work from where you are most productive.
  • 35 days of paid holidays.
  • Opportunity to join a self-motivated, progressive, and multicultural team.
  • Opportunities to attend conferences, developer events, and industry gatherings.
  • Collaboration with colleagues and technical communities across the globe.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge open-source technologies and developer tools.
  • Opportunity to influence products, documentation, and developer experiences through direct community feedback.
  • A role combining technical work, public speaking, content creation, and community engagement.
  • Opportunities to explore emerging technologies and AI-driven developer workflows.
