Backend Developer (Mid-Level)Location: Fully Remote Rate:€200-€320 per day DOE Start: ASAP Contract: Open-endedOverviewWe are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Developer to join a high-performing engineering team working on scalable, high-traffic systems.You will play a key role in building and maintaining robust backend services, contributing to architectural decisions, and improving existing platforms.This role requires strong PHP and Laravel experience, along with a solid understanding of modern backend principles, distributed systems, and clean architecture.Key Responsibilities- Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems- Build and maintain RESTful APIs connecting frontend applications, databases, and third-party services- Develop backend services using PHP and Laravel within modern architectures- Apply clean architecture principles, SOLID practices, and maintain high code quality- Work with relational and non-relational databases such as My SQL, Postgre SQL, and Redis- Contribute to microservices-based systems using Docker and containerised environments- Refactor and improve legacy codebases for performance and maintainability- Implement unit and integration testing to ensure reliability- Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and Dev Ops teams to deliver end-to-end solutions- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practicesRequirements- 4+ years of backend development experience with strong PHP and Laravel expertise- Experience building and scaling applications in high-traffic environments- Strong understanding of clean architecture, DDD, and SOLID principles- Experience working with microservices and distributed systems- Hands-on experience with Docker and modern development workflows- Strong knowledge of My SQL or Postgre SQL- Experience with No SQL technologies such as Redis, Mongo DB, or Elasticsearch- Familiarity with message brokers such as Rabbit MQ or Kafka- Experience with testing practices such as TDD and unit testing- Strong experience with Git and version control workflows- Experience working with Composer and PHP tooling (PHPStan, PHPMD)Nice to Have- Experience working with AI tools or building AI-driven features- Exposure to CQRS patterns- Experience integrating with complex third-party APIsCommunication Requirements- Conversational Spanish required- Intermediate English requiredProcess- Two-stage interview process- Fully remote role
