Developer - API

We are looking for an experienced Developer - API to support the delivery of modern applications within the financial services industry in North Carolina. This is an onsite role with some Hybrid. This Long-term Contract position focuses on building reliable backend services and intuitive front-end experiences, with an emphasis on scalable architecture, quality engineering, and collaborative delivery. The role will contribute to API and microservices development, application modernization, and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle., * Create, test, and support scalable web applications using Java for backend development and Angular for front-end delivery.

• Develop and refine REST-based services and microservice components with Spring Boot to enable secure and dependable integrations.

• Build responsive user interfaces with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 to provide an effective user experience.

• Partner with analysts, product stakeholders, architects, and quality teams to translate business needs into well-designed technical solutions.

• Take part in architectural planning, peer reviews, and technical discussions to strengthen code quality and implementation decisions.

• Investigate application issues in production, resolve defects efficiently, and introduce enhancements that improve speed and stability.

• Produce maintainable, readable, and well-documented code that aligns with established engineering standards and best practices.

• Support automated delivery processes and operational excellence by contributing to CI/CD workflows and DevOps-related activities.

• Help ensure that applications meet expectations for security, scalability, and reliability in a high-demand environment.

• Engage in Agile and Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to support consistent team execution.

Requirements * Detail-oriented experience developing backend applications with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.

• Strong front-end development capability using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.

• Hands-on experience designing and consuming REST APIs in enterprise application environments.

• Working knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

• Familiarity with development and delivery tools including Git, Maven or Gradle, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, SonarQube, and Jira.

• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, optimize application performance, and uphold software quality standards.

• Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business functions. Technology Doesn’t Change the World, People Do.®
