Job description

Join a high-impact European Institutions project in Brussels, contributing to the development and evolution of critical information systems supporting EU decision-making processes. As a Senior Java Angular Full Stack Engineer, you will work in a multicultural and international environment, helping design, build, and enhance enterprise applications that manage legislative workflows, expert groups, and interinstitutional collaboration platforms.

What you will do

  • Design and develop modern front-end architectures and user interfaces using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
  • Develop and maintain robust back-end applications using Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and JPA/Hibernate.
  • Implement business logic and build scalable full-stack solutions that meet enterprise requirements.
  • Design, build, secure, and maintain RESTful APIs and interoperability services.
  • Contribute to the development of critical EU information systems supporting legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Ensure the application of security best practices, including authentication, authorization, input validation, secure storage, logging, and monitoring.
  • Develop responsive and high-performing applications optimized across browsers and devices.
  • Work with Oracle databases and PL/SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
  • Participate in cloud migration initiatives and adapt existing applications to containerized environments and cloud platforms.
  • Deploy and manage applications using CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Perform unit and integration testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and code validation.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, and development teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
  • Support Agile delivery processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives., * Prestigious projects within European institutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education qualification.
  • Minimum 12 years of professional IT experience.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience with Java development and the Spring ecosystem.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing applications with Angular.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Oracle databases and PL/SQL.
  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise-scale information systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Java 17+, Spring 6+, Spring Boot 3+, and JPA/Hibernate.
  • Experience designing, building, and securing RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB is highly valued.
  • Experience with Git-based development workflows and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, containerization technologies, and CI/CD practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments and services, ideally AWS.
  • Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, delivery-focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in multicultural and multilingual teams.
  • English level B2 or higher; French is considered a strong advantage.
