Job description

Software Engineer C#/.NET & SQL Server Systematic Trading Firm Location: City of London, on-site Monday to Friday Hours: 8:00am to 6:00pm Bonus: up to 100% of base, performance-based, with a strong track record of being paid out Our client is a quantitative hedge fund that’s been running the same systematic futures trading programme for over two decades. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Principal Engineer, with day-to-day work close to the Founder, building and operating the firm’s internal portfolio, order and execution management systems and the databases behind them. You don’t need a financial services background. They’re open to people from any sector, so finance experience is a bonus rather than a requirement. What counts is coming from a SQL Server-heavy environment, since a lot of the core logic lives in the database. It’s a small, tech-led business where trading is fully programmatic and engineers work closely with the desk. Non-Negotiables

Requirements

C#/.NET: confident writing and testing production code SQL Server: strong working knowledge, comfortable debugging and tuning performance, no need to be an expert Stored procedures: confident writing and maintaining them, with core logic in the database Academics: 2:1 or above in a technical discipline A-levels: A grade or above in relevant technical subjects On-site: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm What You’ll Work With Stored procedures, with core business logic living in the database layer Dapper for database access from the application side Real-time portfolio, order and execution management systems Data-driven dashboards, reports and monitoring tools Nice to Haves Dapper for database access from the application side Real-time portfolio, order and execution management systems Data-driven dashboards, reports and monitoring tools Kafka or similar Why Join / Projects Engineering sits at the centre of this business, not off to the side supporting it. You’ll take ownership of the front office dashboard and its data model from day one, working directly with the Founder and turning ideas into working software close to real time. This is a pure individual contributor role, so your focus stays on building rather than managing. The desk relies on the systems you’ll maintain, so stability matters, but there’s an appetite for refactoring and cutting technical debt rather than patching around it. You’ll be one of a handful of engineers on the futures side, in a culture built around peer review and technical debate. Employee Benefits Pension Software Engineer | C#/.NET & SQL Server | Systematic Trading Firm #J-18808-Ljbffr
