Lead Developer - Scala

I’m currently recruiting for a Lead Developer to join an exciting public sector programme. Location: Remote, with 2 days/month in Newcastle We’re looking for an experienced Scala Lead Developer who can provide hands-on technical leadership while helping design and deliver full-stack solutions across front-end and back-end layers. What you’ll be doing: Leading the design and implementation of Scala-based solutions Providing technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to developers Building and maintaining microservices using Play Framework Driving architectural discussions and technical decisions Championing best practices around code quality, testing and deployment Collaborating with DevOps, QA and wider stakeholders Working across large codebases and influencing technical direction Key experience: Strong Scala & functional programming experience Proven Lead Developer / technical leadership experience Experience influencing architectural decisions CI/CD, Git and modern development
