Job description

We are seeking a hands-on AI Solution Architect to design an AI-powered regulatory guidance assistant. You will own the end-to-end architecture across data, retrieval, AI orchestration, applications and integrations, ensuring the solution is secure, measurable and suitable for a regulated environment., * Design the end-to-end AI solution across data ingestion, retrieval, models or agents, applications and integrations.

  • Select and justify the appropriate approach for each use case, including RAG, agentic AI, extraction, classification or non-AI solutions.
  • Define evaluation criteria, test data, quality thresholds, acceptance criteria, human-in-the-loop controls and rollback triggers.
  • Own non-functional requirements, including latency, availability, operational cost and output-quality monitoring.
  • Apply Secure by Design principles, addressing prompt injection, data leakage, retrieval permissions and the auditing of AI-assisted decisions.
  • Design data flows that respect information classification and control what reaches the model.
  • Produce architecture decisions that clearly document options and trade-offs.
  • Take designs through assurance and design authority, ensuring actions are completed.
  • Work closely with low-code and pro-code engineers and review delivery against the agreed architecture.
  • Identify and raise risks relating to model drift, data quality, vendor dependency and cost escalation.

Requirements

  • Strong experience designing and delivering end-to-end AI solutions using Azure OpenAI or equivalent.
  • Practical knowledge of embeddings, vector and hybrid search, RAG, agent orchestration, prompt design and versioning.
  • Hands-on experience with Copilot Studio and Azure AI Search.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Functions and Power Platform custom connectors.
  • Strong understanding of AI security, governance, evaluation and production monitoring.
  • Ability to define human-in-the-loop controls and failure-management processes.
  • Strong technical architecture experience combined with a willingness to remain hands-on.
  • Excellent stakeholder-engagement skills and the ability to translate business requirements into buildable technical designs.
  • Experience working effectively with low-code and pro-code engineering teams.
  • Ideally, experience building guidance assistants or AI agents within government or another regulated environment.
