IT Systems Administrator

Job Summary: The IT Systems Administrator (ITSA) is responsible for all aspects of network administration, including servers, desktop systems, communications hardware, software, and some aspects of security and facilities management. Working with senior management, the ITSA ensures that Pacific Crest Bank’s information systems meet current business needs and develops plans and strategies to keep systems current with changes in the banking and mortgage industry, as well as the latest best practices in information technology.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Administer secure network architecture for a single location, including firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and segmented internal networks,
• Support regulatory compliance by maintaining audit-ready logs, patching, and inventory lists.
• Manage user accounts and permissions through Active Directory, MFA, and role-based access tailored to meet the needs of a small staff.
• Provides direct hands-on support to employees, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues quickly to minimize customer impact.
• Monitor system performance and availability.
• Performs banking and mortgage software installation and updates.
• Deploy and maintain servers, user desktops, and laptops
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls, including endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, and coordination with external security vendors.
• Oversees backups, disaster recovery procedures. Assists in business continuity planning and testing.
• Manage and maintain Microsoft Cloud portals (Entra, Microsoft 365 & Azure)
• IT department administration (including writing policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance with government regulations).
• Performs technology needs analysis.
• Plans, implements, and supports the network and computing infrastructure plan.
• Manages new technology deployment.
• Assists with technology planning through ongoing research.
• Maintains the bank’s website and intranet.
• Other tasks, as detailed in the IT Procedures Manual.
• Other assignments, as necessary.

Do you have experience in Writing skills?, * At least five years of experience working with a variety of operating systems, including Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 & 2025, & Windows 11.

• Minimum two years of experience with Wide Area and Local Area Networks
• Two years of scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
• Two years of experience with Linux
• Working knowledge and experience with firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Working knowledge of virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware, etc.)
• Experience installing software and troubleshooting software problems., * Demonstrated knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Linux servers.
• Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users.
• Demonstrated ability to administer a network.
• Demonstrated ability to support networked printers and print devices.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies.
• Network orientation and training of new staff.
• Ability to negotiate hardware/software service and technical support contracts with vendors.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously.
• Highly developed verbal and written communication
• Strong customer service orientation and enjoys working with and assisting end-users.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with core banking software (i.e., Finastra, FIS, Jack Henry, etc.)
• Experience with loan origination software (i.e., CreditQuest)
• Intermediate experience with SQL, ability to write basic queries and perform general tasks.
• Advanced Linux administration (kernel tuning, advanced file system management, system analysis, etc.)
• Advanced scripting ability (Bash, Python, Sed/Awk, Perl)
• HTML/CSS, experience with popular frameworks (i.e., Laravel)
• CMS, specifically WordPress
• Knowledge of at least one programming language such as VB, C#, or Java
• Familiarity with penetration testing and diagnostic tools such as Nmap and Wireshark
• Familiarity with SIEM and HIDS/NIDS technologies and anti-virus products
• Knowledge and experience supporting VMware.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year, * 401(k)
