Job description

HireQ Talent is partnering with an innovative and rapidly growing Health Tech organisation that is transforming the way healthcare data is leveraged to improve patient outcomes.

This is not a role maintaining legacy infrastructure or inheriting someone else’s architecture.

This is a rare opportunity to build and shape a modern enterprise data platform from the ground up. You’ll play a pivotal role in creating the data foundations that enable healthcare professionals, business leaders, and technology teams to make faster, smarter, and more informed decisions across a highly regulated, data-intensive environment.

As the Senior Data Platform Engineer, you’ll own the evolution of a greenfield Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, influencing architecture, engineering standards, governance strategy, and the long-term direction of the organisation’s data capability.

If you’re excited by ownership, modern cloud technologies, and the opportunity to make a genuine impact in Health Tech, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

Architect the Future of Healthcare Data

  • Design, build, and scale a modern Microsoft Fabric data platform
  • Own platform architecture across Lakehouse, warehouse, semantic, and analytics layers
  • Drive the transition from early-stage capability to enterprise-scale production environment
  • Make key technology decisions that balance performance, compliance, scalability, and future innovation
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to define the organisation’s long-term data strategy

Engineer Modern Data Solutions

  • Develop highly scalable and resilient data pipelines
  • Integrate data from healthcare systems, SaaS applications, APIs, databases, and operational platforms
  • Build ingestion, transformation, and orchestration frameworks using modern engineering principles
  • Implement monitoring, observability, and data quality controls to ensure trusted and reliable insights
  • Optimise platform performance to support growing data volumes and analytical demand

Turn Data Into Better Decisions

  • Develop trusted semantic models and enterprise Power BI solutions
  • Create governed data products that enable self-service analytics across the business
  • Support executive reporting, operational intelligence, predictive analytics, and future AI initiatives
  • Establish consistent metrics, definitions, and reporting standards across the organisation
  • Help unlock the full value of healthcare data to improve business and patient outcomes

Champion Engineering Excellence

  • Introduce CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and modern DevOps practices
  • Implement governance, security, privacy, and access controls aligned to healthcare regulations
  • Establish best practices for documentation, testing, deployment, and platform support
  • Mentor stakeholders and influence technical standards across the wider business
  • Shape the roadmap for a world-class data function

Requirements

You’ll likely bring:

Significant experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, or a similar role

Experience designing and delivering modern cloud-based data platforms

Strong expertise with Microsoft Fabric, including several of the following:

  • OneLake
  • Fabric Lakehouse
  • Fabric Warehouse
  • Data Factory

Advanced SQL development skills

Python and/or PySpark experience

Strong understanding of dimensional modelling and data warehousing concepts

Experience building enterprise-scale data integration and pipeline solutions

Strong Power BI development expertise, including DAX optimisation and performance tuning

Hands-on experience with Git, source control, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practices

Strong knowledge of data governance, security, compliance, and data quality frameworks

Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

HealthTech, healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industry experience would be highly advantageous but is not essential.

Benefits & conditions

Help build the data platform that enables better healthcare experiences, stronger operational performance, and smarter decision-making.

Greenfield Ownership

Influence architecture from day one and create a modern Microsoft Fabric ecosystem without the constraints of legacy platforms.

High Visibility & Impact

Work directly with senior leadership and become the go-to expert for the organisation’s data platform strategy.

Cutting-Edge Technology

Leverage the latest capabilities across Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, cloud data engineering, and modern analytics.
