A genuine four-day working week. 34 hours, Monday to Thursday.
I’m recruiting an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join an established electronics manufacturer in Stockport, developing products that are designed and manufactured in-house.
This is a hands-on product development role. You’ll take ownership of firmware across individual projects and see your work progress from development and prototype through testing, validation and into manufacture.
You’ll work closely with electronics, mechanical and manufacturing engineers, with support from an experienced Lead Firmware Engineer.
Requirements
- Commercial embedded firmware development experience
- Strong Embedded C
- Microcontroller development
- Firmware debugging and testing
- Hardware/firmware integration
- Experience developing physical electronic products
Experience with STM32 or PIC would be particularly useful.
Exposure to RTOS development, ThreadX, USBX, TCP/IP, USB, IAR, STM32CubeIDE or C# would also be useful, but you don’t need to tick every box.

The role is predominantly site-based in Stockport, with occasional home working where appropriate.
You’ll need an existing right to work in the UK as sponsorship isn’t available.
