Job description

This role provides close support for the execution and development of TIP North America’s Manufacturing Data Strategy and Analytics in a manner consistent with Saint-Gobain’s vision, mission, values, and objectives. The employee will leverage existing tools, data, and resources to provide actionable insight to plants. Where solutions do not exist, the role will partner with peers to scope, identify, deploy, evaluate, and maintain a library of sensors, tools, software, and methods. The engineer is expected to proactively identify opportunities, manage competing priorities, communicate project progress and risks, and deliver business value.

  • Develop, plan, execute, and coordinate projects associated with Advanced Manufacturing Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Collaborate with plants and central teams to study manufacturing processes, identify problems and inefficiencies, and engineer innovative analytics solutions and safeguards.
  • Use data to support root-cause analysis, kaizens, critical-data monitoring infrastructure, dashboard design, and related manufacturing initiatives.
  • Actively participate in and champion advanced manufacturing Industry 4.0 projects.
  • Effectively manage time, tasks, project costs, and approved budgets.
  • Provide training for management and employees as appropriate for each project.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as needed or requested by management.
  • Stay current on technology and applications in manufacturing analytics and proactively identify opportunities.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $92,000 to $142,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $103,040 to $159,040. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Controls experience is preferred.

Work Experience At least three years of professional manufacturing experience involving measurement systems and/or data analysis. Hands-on experience with automation and controls is preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Flexible, agile, and open-minded collaborator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving capabilities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills.
  • Familiarity with at least one construction-product line, such as gypsum, insulation, siding, or roofing.
  • Previous experience with sensors and controls implementation is preferred.
