Job description

Reporting into the Head of Pricing, you’ll join a specialist team responsible for developing next-generation pricing models that challenge conventional approaches. Working across large and complex datasets, you’ll build predictive machine learning models using alternative data sources to improve customer pricing and risk selection.

Projects include:

  • Building innovative predictive machine learning models
  • Developing pricing and customer selection models
  • Exploring alternative data sources to improve pricing accuracy
  • Geospatial and footprint modelling
  • Residual and claims modelling
  • Working with messy, high-volume datasets to uncover commercial insights
  • Deploying models using Azure Machine Learning
  • Mentoring junior team members and helping shape best practice across the team

Requirements

If you enjoy solving complex modelling problems, building innovative machine learning solutions, and working with alternative data to challenge traditional pricing strategies, this is an opportunity to join one of the UK’s strongest data science functions!, * Experience building machine learning models

  • Strong Python skills
  • Experience developing predictive models within commercial environments
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets
  • Experience with cloud-based ML platforms (Azure ML preferred)
  • The ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring or supporting more junior data scientists is advantageous

Experience within insurance or financial services would be beneficial, although candidates from other highly analytical industries are also encouraged to apply.

Benefits & conditions

  • £70,000-£80,000 salary
  • £5,000 annual car allowance
