Software Development Engineer II

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Software Development Engineer II to design, build, and operate highly available connectivity services that link buildings, devices, and AWS cloud infrastructure. You will own services end-to-end, from architecture and coding to deployment, monitoring, and incident response. Partner with product, networking, and security teams to deliver robust APIs, improve latency and reliability, and automate operations. You will apply data-driven decisions, mentor peers, review code, and continuously improve engineering standards in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed culture., * Design, implement, and maintain scalable connectivity services on AWS.

• Develop clean, testable, and efficient code in Java, Python, or similar languages.
• Own services end-to-end, including deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
• Collaborate with product, networking, and security teams to define and deliver features.
• Improve reliability, latency, and security of building connectivity systems.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation for deployments.
• Implement observability, logging, and metrics to drive data-informed decisions.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architectural discussions.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices and engineering standards.
