Job description

We’re looking for multiple experienced Senior Software Engineers to join a growing consultancy delivering complex, mission-critical software across Central Government, lots of intresting AI investment and work too.

You’ll be joining an Agile engineering team building bespoke software solutions from the ground up, working on projects that have a genuine real-world impact. This is a hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to work across the full software lifecycle - from requirements and design through to development, testing, deployment and ongoing support.

The environment is predominantly Java, alongside TypeScript/JavaScript, with applications deployed across AWS, Azure and private cloud environments.

You’ll also have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, mentor other engineers and work directly with clients, making this a strong next step for an experienced developer looking for more ownership without moving away from hands-on engineering.

Requirements

  • Strong commercial Java experience
  • Full-stack development experience ideally with TypeScript, JavaScript or React
  • Experience working with AWS and/or Azure
  • CI/CD experience with tools such as GitLab
  • Good understanding of software design, development and testing
  • Comfortable working across the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience mentoring engineers or taking ownership of technical work is beneficial
  • Consultancy experience beneficial but not essential

Benefits & conditions

  • Salary: £60,000 - £85,000
  • Location: Remote first + typically 2 days a month onsite in client locations
  • Clearance: SC clearable (you must be a British citizen and have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years), * £60,000 - £85,000
  • Flexible working hours and remote or office working (locations: Bristol, Chel, London or Manchester)
  • 5 days’ external training plus dedicated L&D budget
  • Dedicated Career Coach and technical guilds
  • Matched pension and healthcare
  • Regular socials and company events
  • Clear opportunities to progress into Technical Lead and wider leadership roles

A great opportunity for experienced engineers looking for interesting technical challenges, modern full-stack development and more ownership over the software they build.
