Cloud Platform Engineer

Kforce is immediately seeking an experience Cloud Platform Engineer in support of our enterprise storage and compute customer based in Fort Collins, CO., Our client’s GreenLake Cloud Platform Engineering (CCP) team is seeking an experienced contract engineers to support the SilverCreek on-prem platform initiative. These individuals will augment the existing engineering team responsible for delivering, validating, maintaining, and automating the deployment of CCP infrastructure and platform services within highly secure, disconnected customer environments., * Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere/ESXi environments supporting HPE GreenLake workloads

• Support CCP platform packaging, delivery, installation, and lifecycle management for SilverCreek deployments
• Assist with infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and release validation activities
• Develop and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure automation
• Automate provisioning workflows through Morpheus or equivalent cloud management platforms
• Support Git-based CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform delivery
• Create automated deployment validation frameworks, health checks, smoke tests, and infrastructure testing solutions
• Design and support software delivery into disconnected or highly restricted environments, * Golden image creation
• VM template management
• OVF/OVA workflows
• Cloud-init
• Sysprep
• Packer

Networking & Storage:

• VLAN configuration and troubleshooting
• VMware vSwitches
• DNS, DHCP, and NTP services
• NFS
• iSCSI

Security & Compliance:

• STIG implementation

• Secure infrastructure deployment practices

Software Packaging:

The ideal candidates will possess deep hands-on experience with VMware-based infrastructure, Linux systems administration, cloud management platforms, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes ecosystems, and deployment of software into air-gapped environments. This role is highly technical and requires engineers who are comfortable operating across infrastructure, automation, platform engineering, deployment validation, security hardening, and operational troubleshooting., VMware Infrastructure (Highest Priority):

• VMware vSphere / ESXi administration
• VMware vCenter management

• Datastore management
• High Availability (HA)
• Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS)
• Virtual machine lifecycle management

Platform Automation:

• Advanced Linux systems administration
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Operating system lifecycle management
• Shell scripting and automation

Kubernetes Ecosystem:

• Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting
• Helm package management
• Container lifecycle management
• Cluster operations and support

Cloud Management Platforms: Experience with one or more of:

• HPE Morpheus (preferred)
• VMware Aria/vRealize
• CloudBolt
• Comparable private cloud platforms

Preferred: Air-Gapped Deployments:

• Offline package management

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
