Linux Systems Administrator

Our client is seeking a hands-on Linux Administrator to support, maintain, and optimize a business-critical server environment. This role will be responsible for Linux and Windows administration, system performance, security, virtualization, troubleshooting, and infrastructure upgrades., * Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES 12/15) and Ubuntu Server 20.x LTS.

• Monitor system performance, logs, and traffic to identify and resolve issues proactively.
• Administer VMware or Hyper-V virtual environments.
• Support Active Directory/Samba/SMB interoperability, NFS, remote drive mapping, and volume management.
• Install and manage software packages using RPM, Zypper, and APT.
• Develop and maintain Bash scripts for administration and automation.
• Perform basic Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.
• Implement security best practices and work with security teams to address vulnerabilities.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues.
• Assist with system upgrades, infrastructure projects, deployment planning, and technology refreshes.
• Provide technical support and guidance to developers and other IT administrators.
• Maintain documentation and provide training/knowledge transfer.

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
