SAP Security Engineer

An opportunity is available for a Senior SAP Cloud Security Engineer to establish and strengthen security across a growing SAP cloud and SaaS environment. This person will evaluate SAP architecture, identify configuration weaknesses and systemic risks, secure sensitive-data migrations, and drive security improvements across SAP RISE and other SAP-hosted services. This is not a traditional SAP roles-and-authorizations position. The ideal candidate can look beyond RBAC administration and assess the broader security of SAP cloud architecture, integrations, configurations, data movement, and shared-responsibility boundaries., * Assess the security architecture of SAP RISE, SAP-hosted SaaS, and related cloud services.

• Identify configuration weaknesses, vulnerabilities, integration risks, and systemic security concerns.
• Recommend and drive improvements across a decentralized SAP cloud environment.
• Establish security requirements and controls for sensitive-data migrations from on-premises systems to SAP-hosted cloud services.
• Evaluate SAP security risks associated with cloud architecture, interfaces, identity, data, and platform configuration.
• Translate complex technical risks into actionable security controls, remediation priorities, and roadmaps.
• Partner with SAP, security, infrastructure, identity, risk, business, and application teams.
• Provide independent security guidance during architecture and migration decisions.
• Review new SAP capabilities, integrations, and changes for potential security impact.
• Help define repeatable SAP cloud-security standards and governance practices.
• Support security assessments, risk reviews, and remediation efforts.
• Advise stakeholders on security responsibilities within SAP cloud and SaaS delivery models., This position is not focused primarily on creating and granting user roles, routine access administration, RBAC maintenance, audit coordination without technical ownership, or reviewing risks identified entirely by other teams. Candidates should be prepared to discuss how they have proactively identified architectural, configuration, or systemic SAP security risks.

Work Environment

Local candidates are preferred, but relocation assistance may be available. The organization values in-person collaboration and currently follows a schedule of four days onsite and one day remote per week. Candidates should understand that onsite expectations may change in the future.

• Significant professional experience in SAP security, enterprise security engineering, SAP architecture, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience securing SAP cloud, SAP RISE, SAP-hosted SaaS, or comparable enterprise SAP environments.
• Strong understanding of SAP architecture and how security risks extend beyond roles and authorizations.
• Experience identifying SAP configuration weaknesses, architectural risks, or systemic security concerns.
• Experience supporting or securing sensitive-data migrations into SAP cloud environments.
• Understanding of cloud and SaaS shared-responsibility models.
• Ability to evaluate security risks across SAP applications, integrations, identities, configurations, and data flows.
• Ability to convert technical risks into practical controls and remediation plans.
• Ability to work independently and influence technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP RISE.
• Experience with S/4HANA, BTP, IAS, GRC, Fiori, ECC, or related SAP technologies.
• Experience with SAP security architecture, configuration hardening, vulnerability assessment, or secure integration design.
• Background that combines broader cybersecurity engineering with SAP expertise.
• Experience working for an SAP security product company or SAP consulting organization.
• Experience securing large or complex SAP cloud-transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with SAP roles, authorization objects, access governance, and segregation of duties.
• Exposure to SOX, compliance, or audit requirements.
• Experience developing SAP cloud-security standards or roadmaps.
