Job description
- Lead vehicle-level testing and validation activities for pre-merge and post-merge software releases across chassis/motion controls, body systems, thermal management, infotainment, and other embedded vehicle domains.
- Plan, develop, and execute test procedures, validation workflows, and vehicle-level test plans to evaluate software functionality, performance, and overall system behavior.
- Perform vehicle bring-up activities including ECU installation, software flashing, configuration setup, hardware retrofits, wiring harness validation, and instrumentation installation to maintain vehicle readiness.
- Conduct in-vehicle testing and evaluation, including ride and handling assessments, stability testing, performance tuning, and feature validation using data acquisition and analysis tools.
- Troubleshoot and root-cause complex software, hardware, and system integration issues across multiple vehicle domains, collaborating closely with software, systems, and controls engineering teams.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret CAN, LIN, and Ethernet network logs to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and provide actionable feedback to engineering teams.
- Support the setup, configuration, and validation of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems and integrated vehicle test environments.
- Operate prototype vehicles on structured and exploratory test routes to validate embedded software features and ensure vehicle-level attribute performance.
- Analyze test data and vehicle behavior to support software development, control system tuning, and feature optimization.
- Document test procedures, software defects, validation results, modifications, and issue investigations in Jira or similar tracking tools, including detailed reproduction steps and supporting logs.
- Maintain prototype fleet readiness for validation, demonstrations, development activities, and software release testing.
- Travel to proving grounds, company test sites, and development locations to support vehicle setup, testing, data collection, and seasonal validation efforts.
- Support occasional evenings and weekends during prototype operations, software releases, and critical test campaigns.
