Patton is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hardware Engineer to contribute to the development of our entire line of communications and networking products. As a key member of our hardware engineering team, you will be responsible for system- and board-level design, bringing your expertise to tasks ranging from specification and schematic entry to bring-up, test, and debug of printed circuit boards and systems. Requirements

- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
\n
- 3-5 years of experience in system- and board-level hardware design and development.
\n
- Proficiency in using complex EDA tool chains for schematic entry, preferably Altium.
\n
- Experience in timing and signal integrity analysis.
\n
- Strong expertise in designing microprocessor-based electronics, DDR memory, and communication-specific circuits.
\n
- Familiarity with power supply design, including point-of-load buck and boost circuits.
\n
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (UL and CE).
\n
- Hands-on experience in directing PCB layout and design verification testing.

Prepare detailed electronics hardware and system specifications to guide development activities. \n

Design a wide variety of digital and mixed-signal circuits for LAN and WAN networking applications, incorporating microprocessors and communication-specific integrated circuits. \n

Microprocessor-Based Electronics: \n

Design and bring-up microprocessor-based electronics, including DDR4/5 memory, with a focus on performance and reliability. \n

Develop and debug communication-specific circuits, encompassing Ethernet, USB, and Wireless technologies. \n

Power Supply Design: \n

Design and debug point-of-load buck and boost power supply circuits to meet the power requirements of our products. \n

Regulatory Compliance: \n

Design for regulatory compliance, ensuring safety, emissions, and immunity standards are met (UL and CE). \n

Contribute to the preparation of documentation for regulatory approval processes. \n

PCB Layout and Testing: \n

Participate in PCB layout, making informed decisions on stack-up, characteristic impedance, and copper weight for optimal performance. \n

Conduct thorough design verification testing and document results to validate the functionality and reliability of hardware designs. \n
