Managed File Transfer Specialist- Contract to Hire- Hybrid- W2

We are seeking a Managed File Transfer (MFT) Specialist to support secure file transfer connections between internal teams, customers, and external trading partners.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on MFT connection setup, customer onboarding, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has experience with file transfer protocols such as SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, or AS2 and is comfortable troubleshooting connectivity and file transmission issues.

What You’ll Do

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Managed File Transfer connections for internal and external customers
• Support file transfer protocols including SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, and AS2
• Monitor MFT servers, applications, scheduled jobs, and file transfer activity
• Investigate and resolve failed file transfers, connectivity issues, authentication problems, and other MFT-related incidents
• Manage SSL and AS2 certificates and support PGP encryption
• Assist with MFT application maintenance, patching, upgrades, and capacity planning
• Support new customer and trading partner onboarding from initial connection setup through testing and production go-live
• Partner with EDI, Infrastructure, Security, and other technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Communicate directly with customers and external trading partners when resolving connection or transmission problems
• Maintain documentation for MFT configurations, processes, troubleshooting procedures, and technical standards
• Participate in an on-call support rotation as needed

• 1-3 years of IT experience, preferably involving Managed File Transfer, EDI, networking, application support, or similar technologies
• Experience or working knowledge of SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, and/or AS2
• Understanding of PGP encryption, SSL certificates, and secure file transmission
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking and Windows Server
• Ability to troubleshoot connectivity, authentication, certificate, and file transfer issues
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work with both technical teams and external customers
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered

You don’t need to be an expert in every MFT technology, but you should have a solid understanding of secure file transfers, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting and be motivated to expand your expertise in an enterprise MFT environment.
