Job description
This report writing and paraplanning role requiring experience of (and confidence in) dealing in high net worth (HNW) market. This is a role would be to join a strong team and would work alongside both the full time administrator for the team and the technical adviser in the team. Attention to detail, ability to work unsupervised, under pressure and to tight deadlines are all essential. The job will entail research and report writing within a strong client focussed team.
To produce Suitability Letters following recommendations made in line with the firm’s guidelines and procedures. This involves use of the database and meeting notes to gather information on the client, liaising with other members of the client service and advisory team where necessary.
As and when required, you will also be expected to research and produce Suitability Letter templates for new products and support the Technical Adviser with follow up points from meetings including client specific points and generic technical queries.
Products will often be specialised in nature including tax efficient investments and commercial property investments using the Internet, FE Analytics and various investment research houses as well as the providers themselves to gather information.
Requirements
The client is dedicated to promoting the technical development of all its staff. They strongly encourage a program of ongoing study for all our employees and have instigated a formal bonus policy for exam passes.
This role requires:
- Certificate In Financial Planning as a minimum and ideally Diploma
- Studying for further industry exams
- 3 years minimum IFA industry experience
- Excellent knowledge of all pension products, particularly SIPPs, and pension transfers
- Good knowledge of all investment, life and pensions products and legislation.
- In addition some knowledge of more specialist products (property, film, tax, hedge funds) would be helpful.
- Report writing experience.
- Good technical knowledge
Skills
Computer literacy is a pre-requisite within this role as information technology and electronic communications are an important part of the way the Firm operates.
The successful candidate will be confident in:
- Strong communication skills with providers, clients and within the company
- Preparing of some client reports and suitability letters
- Technical research and handling some technical client queries where needed
- Being proactive with regard to industry changes and ensuring team complies with FCA and internal compliance procedures ensuring client information and files remain compliant.
- Strong IT skills (ideally in Intelliflo, Volume and Voyant)
- Ensuring all documents are checked for accuracy prior to issue to ensure excellent client service
