• We support the Software Team in the development of software design that aligns with the Product Owners vision.
• We focus on the design, development and implementation of software solutions within the Hybrid Navy product baseline.
• We ensure the solution meets the required levels of quality, performance and reliability.
• We contribute to the design, development and integration of software components within a complex naval systems architecture.
• We develop and enhance software solutions using Agile and DevSecOps practices, delivering high-quality code and automated test capabilities.
• We actively participate in sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
• We help drive successful team delivery and continuous improvement.
• We collaborate with engineers, Product Owners and stakeholders to define requirements, solve technical challenges and deliver effective software solutions.

We are BAE Systems, and you will join a large, collaborative software team working on multiple software projects for existing and new customers. Our team operates in a fast-paced environment and develops highly visible, mission-critical software for deployment within complex Naval Ship environments. • We require software development experience in a structured engineering environment.
• We require experience with CI and automated testing.
• We require familiarity with using and integrating third-party software technologies.
• We require the ability to understand technical guidance within a DevSecOps approach and translate this into useful, reusable design and code artefacts.
• We require an academic qualification in a STEM-related subject, or equivalent experience.
• We require the ability and willingness to become recognised as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer through an appropriate recognised professional institution.
• Please note that some roles may be subject to security and export control restrictions, and all applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting and typically 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required.
