Senior PACS Implementation Engineer

The Senior PACS Implementation Engineer leads the build, integration, migration, and technical onboarding of customer environments onto the InSight PACS platform, acting as the technical expert for healthcare system commissioning and interoperability across NHS trusts, private healthcare providers, and third-party suppliers. The role is primarily hands-on and technical, with the successful candidate also coordinating the implementation team’s day-to-day technical delivery and providing mentoring to less experienced engineers. Team leadership is a meaningful part of the role but remains secondary to its core focus on technical delivery., * Own end-to-end technical delivery of PACS build, integration, and migration projects, acting as the subject matter expert for DICOM, HL7, and healthcare interoperability standards across customer and partner environments.

• Design and troubleshoot integrations between PACS, RIS, EPR, VNA, and third-party clinical systems, translating customer workflows into effective, operationally sound technical solutions.
• Plan and execute imaging data migrations, including querying and troubleshooting the underlying databases, to ensure data quality and minimal disruption to clinical services.
• Lead day-to-day coordination of the implementation team’s workload across build, integration, and migration activities, providing direct technical leadership, mentoring, and escalation support to engineers.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Client Experience teams to improve integration capabilities, maintain technical documentation, and support pre-sales and tender activities.

• 5+ years of experience implementing, integrating, or migrating PACS, RIS, VNA, or other healthcare imaging solutions.
• Strong working knowledge of DICOM services (C-Store, C-Find, C-Move, Modality Worklist) and practical experience with HL7 messaging in healthcare integration contexts.
• Strong SQL and database skills, including the ability to query, interrogate, and troubleshoot databases underpinning PACS and integration platforms.
• Direct experience with PACS build, configuration, and system commissioning within a regulated healthcare environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading, coordinating, or mentoring engineers within a technical delivery team.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Requirements

• Experience working with NHS organisations, including familiarity with NHS procurement processes and digital/information governance requirements.
• Knowledge of cloud-hosted healthcare applications and services.
• Experience with imaging archive consolidation or VNA migration programmes.
• Exposure to contributing to architectural standards or reference architectures (on-premises, hybrid, or cloud-based).
• Relevant project delivery, implementation, or healthcare IT certifications.
