Job description
The Senior Mirth Integration Specialist will serve as the technical lead for HL7 integration and dataflow across client implementations supporting Infinitt PACS workflows. This role requires expert-level knowledge of HL7 messaging, Mirth Connect development, and healthcare system interoperability to design, implement, and validate robust data exchange solutions. The specialist will lead client integrations, cutovers, and testing efforts to ensure reliable, scalable, and compliant dataflows., * Act as the subject matter expert for HL7 and Mirth Connect across all client implementations.
- Design, develop, and support HL7 message transformations and routing within Mirth to enable client adoption of Infinitt PACS workflows.
- Lead and coordinate HL7 testing, validation, and implementation activities across multiple client sites.
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex HL7 and interface issues related to orders, results, ADT, and imaging workflows.
- Support client cutovers by coordinating VPN changes, interface moves, system configurations, and data routing as related to HL7 and PACS connectivity.
- Collaborate with PACS, imaging, and infrastructure teams to ensure end-to-end dataflow between Infinitt PACS and downstream/upstream systems.
- Participate in and lead technical discussions with internal teams and client technical resources regarding integration architecture and dataflow design.
- Validate application implementations across regions to ensure accurate, timely, and secure sending and receiving of HL7 messages.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, interface specifications, and testing plans.
Requirements
- Expert-level experience with HL7 v2.x messaging (ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU, etc.).
- Advanced hands-on experience developing, customizing, and supporting interfaces using Mirth Connect.
- Strong understanding of healthcare interoperability and system integration best practices.
- Experience troubleshooting complex, high-volume HL7 dataflows in production environments.
- Working knowledge of PACS systems and DICOM workflows; Infinitt PACS experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting client migrations, system cutovers, and go-live activities.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor junior integration resources.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating radiology systems (PACS, RIS, EMR/EHR).
- Familiarity with VPN connectivity, interface engines, and secure data transmission.
- Experience supporting multi-site or enterprise healthcare clients.
- HL7 or Mirth Connect certifications (if applicable).
Work Environment
- Cross-functional collaboration with PACS, imaging, infrastructure, and project teams.
- Direct interaction with client technical and clinical IT resources.
- Support for multiple concurrent client implementations.
