  • Ability to write, read, debug, explain, and improve software using at least one modern programming language, with working knowledge of core software design principles.

  • Understanding of common data structures, basic algorithmic and complexity reasoning, and how software choices affect correctness and maintainability.

  • Understanding of software testing and debugging, including unit and integration testing and familiarity with Test-Driven Development principles.

  • Working knowledge of application interfaces, SQL, relational database concepts, data validation, and foundational web application concepts.

  • Working knowledge of version control and collaborative code review, plus basic understanding of software configuration, development environments, logs, deployment, and controlled software delivery.

  • Basic understanding of secure coding and the appropriate handling of credentials, sensitive information, dependencies, and access.

  • Ability to use AI-assisted development tools responsibly while understanding and validating the software produced.

  • Strong communication, accountability, curiosity, coachability, intellectual honesty, and willingness to learn from feedback.

Education: A completed bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, IT/IS with substantial software-development coursework, or a related field is strongly preferred. Equivalent demonstrable software-development preparation may also be considered.

  • Exposure to one or more technologies in our environment, such as Python, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, or comparable technologies.

  • Experience with software projects involving significant data processing, data integration, data engineering, or data-quality concerns.

  • Exposure to logistics, transportation, fleet operations, supply chain, or related industries.

  • Familiarity with GIS, geospatial data, mapping, routing, or location-based applications.

  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, containers, automated delivery pipelines, observability, or production environments.

  • Exposure to AI/ML integrations, AI-assisted software development, or AI-enabled application capabilities.
