Electrical Engineering Professional Associate

Work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our municipal clients’ water and wastewater challenges locally and worldwide. Being charged with using experience in the design and specification of medium and low voltage power distribution, motor control, standby and emergency generation systems, lighting systems, fire detection and protection, lightning protection, grounding, and security systems, to relevant codes of practice. Develop high quality power distribution and lighting calculations, technical notes, and reports. Ability to contribute to the development and growth of both domestically and globally will be a great asset. Develop and design one-line, panel board, and electrical plan drawings. Develop and design lightning design and calculations for each facility. Develop and model electrical distribution in SKM. Coordinate electrical needs with other disciplines including Process Mechanical, Building Mechanical, and Instrumentation and controls. Develop and design motor control diagrams for each equipment. Oversee and guide supporting engineers on each project. Develop and provide electrical specifications for each project. Develop technical documents including schematic design report, workshop presentation, and workshop notes.

Hybrid schedule is allowed.

TRAVEL: 10% travel to project sites within the United States for site visits, field assessments, and coordination meetings, typically on an as-needed basis.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in a quantitative major, such as Electrical, Architecture, Environmental or related Engineering field with coursework in Electrical Systems, Electrical Principles, etc. and 6 years of work experience in the job offered or related Electrical Engineer occupation

Special skills:

• Electrical systems design including low-voltage (LV) power distribution, load analysis, equipment sizing, and development of single-line diagrams for complex infrastructure, industrial, and mission-critical facilities.

• Leading electrical design efforts and managing project deliverables, including preparation of basis of design documents, technical specifications, and construction documentation for multidisciplinary projects.

• Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Revit for development of coordinated electrical models, construction drawings, and clash-free design integration across disciplines.

• Multidisciplinary coordination experience with mechanical, civil, structural, architectural, and process engineering teams to integrate electrical systems within complex facilities using BIM and coordination workflows.

• Lighting design and photometric analysis using AGI32, Dialux, and Relux, including design of normal and emergency lighting systems compliant with industry standards.

• Power system analysis and electrical calculation tools including SKM and Amtech for cable sizing, voltage drop analysis, and system reliability studies.

• Electrical codes and standards including NEC, applicable to design, safety, and construction compliance.
