Job description

An opportunity for a Data Analyst has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).

The selected candidate will join our Data & Analytics Team, acting as a key interface between business functions, our data ecosystem, and requested solutions. The team is multidisciplinary and focused on driving a data-driven mindset across the organization. The jobholder will reinforce our capabilities in transforming large datasets into strategic assets, collaborating closely with various departments to understand their needs, deliver actionable insights, and ensure top-tier data governance in our complex defense and space programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main tasks of the jobholder will be:

  • Perform end-to-end data processing, from gathering relevant data from various internal and external sources to cleaning and processing raw data to ensure the highest data quality.
  • Apply advanced statistical and analytical techniques to extract meaningful insights, draw accurate conclusions from data, and prevent biases in decision-making.
  • Design and deliver high-impact data visualizations, charts, and dashboards to communicate findings effectively through clear storytelling, while advising users on best practices.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports to share key insights with stakeholders and support informed, data-driven business decisions.
  • Manage and maintain analytical tools and software ecosystem for data analysis, ensuring data security, privacy, and full compliance with internal requirements and external regulations.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Experience: Proven experience in data analysis, data preparation, and working with complex datasets.
  • Technical knowledge:
  • Strong command of statistics and probability concepts (e.g., hypothesis testing, Monte Carlo simulations, expected values, standard errors, Central Limit Theorem, confidence intervals).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Python/R, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, QlikSense, or similar software).

  • Soft skills: Excellent communication and storytelling skills, high adaptability to work in a networking mode, coaching mindset, and ability to act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Languages: Advanced level in English.
  • Valuable / Nice to have: Experience within the aerospace, defense, or industrial manufacturing sectors; knowledge of big data technologies or advanced machine learning models.
