Job description

Factorial’s mission is to empower businesses to make better decisions, and data is a key component in doing so. As an Analytics Engineer at Factorial, you’ll sit at the intersection of data engineering, business intelligence, and product analytics. Our data platform is already offering the following services:

  • Ingestion (SaaS APIs, DDBBs, Streams)
  • Storage (Data Lake, Stream Storage)
  • Catalogue (Atlan)
  • Modeling (Metabolic/ DBT)
  • Activation (Hightouch)
  • Exploration & Visualization (Preset/PowerBI)
  • On-demand Data Products (Clickhouse) We’re looking for an Analytics Engineer to collaborate closely with Product and our Finance teams. The Role At Factorial, we have a team of +150 very talented developers. We are looking for engineers who can wear many hats, abstract problems, and find creative solutions. We look for smart people who are curious, proactive and have good soft/communication skills. We are not looking for a long list of skills and technologies. We interact with Data through SQL on AWS, but we use many tools to exploit data, we don’t expect you to be proficient in all of them. We believe that someone who has good aptitudes and is hungry for learning is what works best. If you’re looking for new challenges in a people-first company, this is what to expect:

  • You design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data models, pipelines, and dashboard/reporting systems to support internal stakeholders across Product and Finance.
  • You will help stakeholders analyse their data: as you grow more comfortable in the business domain, you will be able to ask the right questions as well as craft the queries to answer them.
  • You will ensure high data quality, consistency, and reliability. Implement testing, validation, version control, and monitoring in the data flow)
  • You will occasionally contribute in managing the platform from a DataOps point of view.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the AWS Analytics Stack (Glue, S3, Athena, Redshift)
  • 3-4 years experience with SQL.
  • GitOps driven mentality and data CI/CD ideas.
  • Data modeling with DBT. Nice to have

  • Hands-on with Kafka.
  • Spark development, especially Structured Streaming, or equivalent (Flink, Beam, Samza,…)
  • Some infrastructure as code experience, ideally with Terraform on CloudSome alternative coding experience, ideally with a background of web development. At Factorial we don’t evaluate you by the years of experience you have, we evaluate your knowledge and skills. How? We have a Career Parth ith a rubric framework where we define what is expected for each experience level and skill. This framework allows you to know at which level you’re right now and what you need to keep growing. As we love transparency, our Career Path includes the salaries for each level and we share it during the first interview to make sure we’re aligned.

Benefits & conditions

For this position, the annual gross salary starts at 42,800€. This includes a base salary of 40,000€ and a variable pay of up to 2,800€ annualy and paid quarterly, depending on the company’s goals. We top it with an Employee Stock Options Plan. To wrap up:
