Job description
As imec continues to grow in the Netherlands, we are looking for an Information Security Officer who will be the key security point of contact for our Dutch organization. You will help protect sensitive research, support secure collaboration with strategic partners, and make sure security requirements are translated into clear, practical guidance for the business. You will be part of imec’s Corporate Security Office and work closely with colleagues in Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as with ICT, business teams, government stakeholders and external security authorities. Your key responsibilities In this role, you will combine security governance, risk management, compliance and national security responsibilities. More specifically, you will:
- Translate imec’s security strategy into practical policies, processes and guidance for imec Netherlands.
- Act as the main security liaison between imec Netherlands, the Corporate Security Office, ICT, business teams and external stakeholders.
- Monitor Dutch and European security legislation and translate relevant requirements into concrete actions.
- Perform security risk assessments for applications, technologies, projects and business processes.
- Advise business and ICT stakeholders on risk mitigation, security controls and exception management.
- Support compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, TISAX, CyFun, NIST and other relevant standards.
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation, evidence collection and follow-up of findings.
- Coordinate security compliance for government-funded, defence, aerospace and other security-sensitive projects.
- Act as Security Officer for imec Netherlands and coordinate personnel security clearance processes.
- Liaise with relevant Dutch, EU and NATO security authorities when required. Requirements
You combine solid security expertise with a pragmatic mindset and strong communication skills. You know how to make complex security topics understandable and relevant for different stakeholders.
- At least 5 years of experience in information security, risk management, compliance or security governance.
- Strong knowledge of security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27000 series, TISAX & NIST
- A good understanding of security processes, technologies and architectures.
- The ability to translate technical risks into clear business language.
- Knowledge of Dutch security legislation (e.g. NIS2, CRA)
- Familiarity with the Dutch cybersecurity and national security ecosystem.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain Dutch, EU and NATO security clearances.
- Experience in government, defence, aerospace or other security-sensitive environments is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of product security and security clearance processes is a plus.
