IT Delivery Manager

We are looking for an IT Delivery Manager to play a central role in helping our client’s development teams deliver high-quality technology change. This is a key role working closely with their developers, Business Analysts, testers and the Product Owner to turn priorities into well-defined work, keep delivery moving, and making sure each sprint lands successfully.

·Working with the Product Owner and developers to turn high-level requirements into user stories, tasks and clear sprint plans

·Ensuring each item has an agreed specification, test plan and shared understanding before development starts

·Tracking sprint progress, removing obstacles, managing changes in priority and supporting testing and go-live activity

You will be comfortable coordinating delivery across several moving parts. At any point, you will know which items are close to completion, which need more work, which proposed items for the next sprint are ready for development, and where decisions or support are needed. You will keep the Product Owner informed, help the team stay focused, and make sure that changes are managed clearly and calmly.

This role is not expected to be a hands-on development role, but technical literacy is important. The IT Delivery Manager should be able to understand technical discussions, ask sensible questions, and command the respect of developers while knowing when to draw on deeper technical expertise from others in the team.

We are looking for someone who combines strong delivery discipline with an approachable, collaborative style. You will minimise distractions and obstacles for the sprint team, facilitate practical conversations, and bring the strength of personality needed to resolve issues without creating unnecessary friction. This is a crucial role and a high priority hire for our client, with a direct impact on our ability to deliver our technology priorities. SKILLS REQUIRED

We are looking for somebody who can bring structure, momentum and clarity to software delivery. You will be confident working with developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts and Testers, and you will enjoy helping teams turn good ideas into well-managed delivery plans.

You will be able to demonstrate:

·Strong project management, delivery management or scrum-master experience in a software development environment

·The ability to break down high-level requirements into user stories, tasks, acceptance criteria and delivery plans

·A disciplined approach to sprint planning, backlog readiness, progress tracking and delivery follow-through

·Confidence working with developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts and testers to ensure work is understood, specified and testable

·The ability to spot blockers early, remove distractions and keep the team focused on sprint commitments

·Good judgement when priorities change, including the ability to reshuffle work while keeping stakeholders informed

·Technical literacy and curiosity, with enough understanding to engage credibly with developers without needing to be a hands-on developer

·An affable, collaborative style combined with the strength of personality to deal with problems, competing priorities and delivery pressure

·Energy, organisation, attention to detail and a clear focus on delivering outcomes

Experience with agile delivery, sprint ceremonies, release coordination and software testing processes would be very useful. We will provide access to technical specialists where deeper technical insight is needed, but we are looking for someone who can take ownership of delivery discipline and help the team move faster with confidence.
