Job description

As part of our expansion into our new site, we are looking for someone to join the team on a part-time basis (15 hours per week) as a Lecturer in Computer Programming (AMTEC).

The working pattern for this role for this academic year, will be Monday (all day) and Tuesday (all day).

Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at AMTEC.

As a Lecturer in Computer Programming at AMTEC, you will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of Engineering programmes. You will be delivering Python, C, C++ Programming and Computer Practice to a number of apprenticeship cohorts.

Day to day duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across a number of programmes as agreed with the Head of Area;
  • Tutorship of students, showing sensitivity to their needs and encouraging the highest possible standards;
  • For meeting targets with reference to student progress on programme, for their attendance and retention;
  • Providing advice and guidance to students in their progression to either employment or other courses within the College.

Requirements

  • Degree level qualification, or equivalent in a relevant area.
  • Knowledge and experience of current teaching strategies.
  • Knowledge of Python, C and C++ programming.
