Software Engineer, Development Experience

As a member of this team, you will shape the landscape for how Tesla designs future systems. This is a software development role that requires someone who likes tothinkabout the big picture. You will work withcomponentowners across vehicle, robot, and energy organizations to developnew technologiesthat act as an engineering force multiplier. You will excel on this team if you thrive on autonomy and enjoy the freedom (and responsibility) of driving your own projects from concept to completion. What You’ll Do

• Develop code generators for highly efficient embedded code and work withcomponentteams to integrate with microcontrollers

• Design scalable distributed systems that run heavy asynchronous workloadsto analyzethe impact ofeveryfirmware change

• Advance our developer tooling to scale up with the rapidly increasing number of products and variants

• Identifyopportunities to improve organizational efficiency and reduce costsindeveloper workflows

• Design, develop, and deploy tools and services to augment the development process

• Interface with key leaders of components spanning all Tesla products including energy, autopilot, robot, powertrain and vehicle controls, and service

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability

• ProficiencyinRustand Python

• Excitement to develop internal tooling

• Autonomy and resourcefulness to drive solutions from initially ambiguous requirements

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills

Expected Compensation $120,000 - $396,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
