Job description

As an Avionics Integration and Test Engineer on our Engines Avionics team, you will own the integration and verification of the avionics that control and monitor our rocket engines. You will work at the boundaries between hardware, FPGA, embedded software, and control systems, taking units from first power-on through formal requirements verification and into engine-level test. You will set the verification strategy for the subsystems you own, author the requirements, interface control documents, and design documentation that the discipline teams build against, and represent integration and testability in the architecture decisions that shape the next generation of our engine avionics., * Bring up and functionally test engine avionics units: first power-on, functional checkout, and troubleshooting to root cause across the hardware, FPGA, embedded software, and controls boundaries.

  • Set the verification strategy for the avionics subsystems you own, and lead verification and integration campaigns from planning through closure.

  • Define verification methodsand expectationsagainst requirements, author and execute test procedures, produce test reports, and drive requirements to closure.

  • Author and maintain requirements, digital and electrical interface control documents, and design documentation that the hardware, FPGA, software, and controls teams build against.

  • Integrate avionics into the engine system and support stand and hot-fire test campaigns, including on-console test support, anomaly investigation, and corrective action.

  • Represent integration and testability in cross-discipline architecture and design decisions spanning FPGA, embedded software, control systems, and hardware.

  • Mentor engineers on verification practice, test execution, and troubleshooting technique., Applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S.as a refugee or granted asylum.
