Working across Product, Operations, Delivery, Data and AI, and enterprise technology teams, the Director balances near-term delivery and stability with long-term modernization, simplification, and innovation.

Purpose and Strategic Outcomes

  • Develop and execute the Health Navigation technology roadmap, aligned with product strategy, client commitments, and enterprise priorities.
  • Evolve Health Navigation toward scalable, secure, composable, and reusable platform capabilities while reducing complexity and technical debt.
  • Accelerate product delivery, engineering productivity, and operational efficiency through modern engineering practices, automation, and responsible AI adoption.
  • Deliver reliable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions that improve participant and client outcomes.

Solution Engineering and Architecture

  • Own end-to-end engineering execution for Health Navigation, including architecture, application engineering, integrations, and platform support.
  • Translate product and business strategy into a sequenced, measurable technology roadmap.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, extensible, secure, and supportable.
  • Drive modernization, simplification, standardization, and reuse through shared services, APIs, components, and enterprise platforms.
  • Establish engineering, architecture, quality, DevSecOps, observability, and documentation standards.

Product, Delivery, Data and AI Alignment

  • Partner with Product, Delivery, and Operations to translate roadmaps into scalable, configurable, and operable solutions.
  • Collaborate with Data and AI leaders to embed data, analytics, AI, and GenAI into participant journeys and business processes.
  • Use AI and automation to improve participant experience, operational efficiency, decision support, and engineering productivity.
  • Promote responsible AI-assisted development, testing, support, and operational practices aligned with security, privacy, risk, and governance standards.

Reliability, Security and Operational Excellence

  • Own solution availability, performance, resiliency, capacity, observability, security, and production readiness.
  • Partner with enterprise technology and support teams to establish effective build-to-run handoffs and clear L1, L2, and L3 accountability.
  • Drive timely incident resolution, disciplined root-cause analysis, sustained remediation, and continuous improvement using service, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security, privacy, risk, architecture, and governance requirements.

Client, Business and Delivery Impact

  • Serve as the primary technology partner to Health Navigation leadership, providing clear recommendations, trade-offs, risks, and delivery commitments.
  • Support client engagements related to solution capabilities, roadmap, innovation, service health, and contractual commitments.
  • Manage strategic vendors and delivery partners for outcomes, quality, capacity, commercial performance, and risk.
  • Communicate progress, dependencies, decisions, and recommendations clearly to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

Leadership and Organizational Impact

  • Build and develop a high-performing organization of engineering managers, architects, engineers, and technical professionals.
  • Establish clear roles, decision rights, and accountability across internal and partner teams.
  • Lead organizational design, workforce planning, succession, talent development, performance management, and retention.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and client focus.
  • Lead organizational and technology change through clear communication, disciplined execution, and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive technology and engineering leadership experience in large-scale enterprise environments, including responsibility for client-facing platforms or solutions.
  • Proven experience leading software engineering, solution architecture, modernization, production reliability, and complex technology delivery at scale.
  • Proven knowledge of modern architectures and engineering practices, including cloud, APIs, microservices, integrations, data platforms, DevSecOps, observability, and AI/ML.
  • Demonstrated success translating product and business strategy into executable technology roadmaps and measurable outcomes. Experience managing strategic vendors, delivery partners, budgets, capacity, and commercial outcomes.
  • Experience in healthcare, health navigation, benefits administration, clinical solutions, or customer engagement platforms is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.
