About the Role¿Es este el puesto que está buscando?Si es así, siga leyendo para obtener más detalles y no olvide enviar su solicitud hoy mismo.We are looking for an experienced Data Platform Manager to lead an engineering team responsible for building and evolving a large-scale, cloud-native data platform.This is not a traditional Data Management position.We are looking for someone who comes from a strong Software Engineering / Platform Engineering background, ideally with hands-on experience in Golang, Kubernetes and distributed systems, and who has progressed into technical leadership and people management.You will combine engineering leadership, architecture and team development, working closely with senior engineers, architects and product stakeholders to shape the future of a highly scalable data platform.The environment is heavily focused on cloud-native engineering, automation, Kubernetes and building platforms as products.What You’ll DoLead and develop a team of Software, Platform and Data Platform Engineers.Own the technical direction and evolution of key components within the Data Platform.Drive architectural decisions around distributed systems, Kubernetes and cloud-native services.Work closely with engineers on technical design, architecture reviews and complex engineering challenges.Ensure the platform remains scalable, resilient, secure and highly available.Promote strong engineering practices around testing, observability, automation and CI/CD.Drive the development of internal APIs, services and platform capabilities.Support the team in designing and operating production systems at scale.Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Infrastructure and Data teams across an international engineering organisation.Balance technical excellence with business priorities and delivery.Mentor senior engineers and create clear development paths within the team.Build a strong engineering culture based on ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.Technical BackgroundWe are looking for someone who has previously been a strong engineer and understands the challenges their team is solving.Ideally, you will bring experience across several of the following areas:Golang / GoKubernetesKubernetes Operators / ControllersCloud-native architecturesMicroservices and distributed systemsREST / gRPC APIsEvent-driven architecturesDocker / containerisationTerraform / Infrastructure as CodeCI/CD and GitOpsPrometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry or similar observability toolingSQL / NoSQL technologiesData infrastructure or large-scale data platformsPublic or private cloud environmentsExperience building platform products, developer platforms, database platforms, data infrastructure or Kubernetes-based services would be particularly valuable.Leadership ExperienceAlongside your technical background, you should have experience:Managing or technically leading engineering teams.Hiring, mentoring and developing engineers.Working with Senior and Staff-level Engineers.Translating technical strategy into actionable engineering roadmaps.Making architecture decisions while empowering engineers to own solutions.Working across multiple teams and stakeholders in an international environment.We are not looking for a manager who has completely moved away from technology.You should still be comfortable discussing architecture, challenging technical decisions and understanding code-level conversations when necessary.What Makes This Opportunity DifferentYou will join an organisation building its own European cloud and data ecosystem, working on infrastructure and platform technology at significant scale.xqysrnhRather than simply consuming managed cloud services, the engineering teams build many of the underlying platform capabilities themselves.This makes the role particularly interesting for someone who enjoys understanding how platforms actually work underneath the surface, while having the opportunity to shape both the technology and the engineering team behind it.
