Job description
Technology helps keep our programs and teams connected. As a Regional IT Support Specialist - Level 1, you’ll provide hands-on and remote technical support to AlphaBEST team members and program locations throughout your assigned region. We’re looking for a technology professional who:
- Enjoys troubleshooting problems and finding practical solutions
- Can explain technical issues in a clear, easy-to-understand way
- Is comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a team
- Takes pride in providing responsive, reliable customer support
- Can manage multiple priorities and follow issues through to resolution
- Is flexible and willing to travel to program locations when hands-on support is needed
In this role, you will:
- Manage new and open technical support tickets within your assigned region, providing timely follow-up and resolution
- Remotely configure, manage, and troubleshoot devices as needed
- Support computers, iPads, phones, printers, copiers, and other technology used by AlphaBEST teams
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and wireless network issues
- Support wireless networks at assigned locations and partner with IT leadership to help maintain secure, reliable connectivity
- Set up and troubleshoot printers and other hardware in both local and networked environments
- Travel regularly to program sites to diagnose and resolve technology issues that require hands-on support
- Complete technology repairs and support activities within your assigned region under the direction of IT leadership
- Help minimize technology disruptions and maintain continuity of business and program operations
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in:
- Help desk or technical support
- Desktop, computer, or device support
- Hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Network or wireless troubleshooting
- Field or regional IT support
- Customer-facing technology support
Requirements
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel regularly between assigned program locations, sometimes with short notice
- Strong working knowledge of Windows, Apple/macOS, Android, and iOS operating systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
- Working knowledge of PC hardware, wireless networks, printers, and common peripheral devices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify solutions, and communicate next steps clearly
- Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience providing technology support and/or completing technology repairs
- Technical certifications are a plus but not required
