Network Engineer

• Participate in technical direction, architecture design, and product selection for the enterprise data network under general supervision.
• Deploy, configure, and support network technologies across access and distribution layers.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues using sound judgment and OSI model reasoning.
• Contribute to short and long-term network strategy and budget planning.
• Plan and lead small projects, coordinating internal and external resources to meet business needs.
• Provide clear status updates to stakeholders and project proponents.
• Document implementations and changes to support team-based engineering practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and, on occasion, provide guidance to project team members.
• Support time-sensitive implementations and troubleshooting that may impact operations.

We are seeking a Network Engineer to design, configure, manage, troubleshoot, support, and implement enterprise switching and routing infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Cisco Catalyst switching and routing, OSI Layer 1-3 troubleshooting, and enterprise network deployments and a proven ability to deliver stable network solutions, lead small projects, and collaborate across technical teams., * Expert knowledge of telecom/network concepts and the 7-layer OSI model, with emphasis on Layers 1-3.

• Hands-on experience installing and configuring Cisco Catalyst switches (C9000 series) and routers (C8000 series).
• Experience deploying equipment at the access and distribution layers.
• Familiarity with network management and monitoring tools.
• Basic understanding of desktop and server operating systems.
• Ability to operate independently on well-defined initiatives and work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong customer focus with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills to manage concurrent projects.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Education/experience as stated in the Education section.

Preferred Skills:

• MEC (Multi-Chassis EtherChannel) configuration experience.
• SD-WAN deployment or administration experience., * Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of professional technical work experience.
• Associate’s degree with a minimum of four (4) years of professional technical work experience.
• Six (6) years of professional technical work experience without a degree.
