Test & Evaluation Engineer - Maritime Systems Integration in Tysons Corner

Abbott On Call is seeking a highly motivated Test & Evaluation Engineer to support the planning, coordination, execution, and analysis of operational test events for advanced manned and unmanned maritime systems supporting the U.S. Navy. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of systems engineering, technical integration, and field operations.

As a member of our Test & Evaluation team, you will work alongside government customers, senior engineers, technical program managers, and fleet personnel to deliver complex test events from initial planning through final reporting. You will help integrate emerging technologies, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure mission objectives are successfully achieved.

Test Planning & Execution

\n

· Develop and maintain detailed test plans, schedules, milestones, and technical documentation for engineering and operational test events.

\n

· Coordinate logistics, personnel, equipment, facilities, and support services required for successful execution.

n

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related ABET-accredited engineering discipline.

\n

· 3-7 years of engineering experience supporting testing, systems engineering, integration, verification and validation, or technical program execution.

\n

· Experience coordinating complex engineering projects involving multiple stakeholders.

\n

. Strong understanding of engineering documentation, requirements management, and technical problem solving.

\n

· Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

\n

· Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

\n

· Ability to travel up to 25%, sometimes with minimal advanced notice.

\n

· U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

· Translate customer objectives into executable engineering and test plans.

\n

· Track action items, risks, technical issues, and dependencies throughout project execution.

\n

Systems Integration & Engineering Support

\n

· Coordinate integration activities across software, hardware, communications, and mission systems.

\n

· Participate in system integration, verification and validation, troubleshooting, and operational assessments.

\n

· Assist with interface verification, configuration management, and system readiness activities.

\n

· Review technical documentation, engineering procedures, and test objectives for completeness and accuracy.

\n

Field Testing & Operational Support

\n

· Support in-person operational demonstrations, fleet exercises, and developmental testing at various military installations.

\n

· Coordinate on-site engineering activities with government customers, contractors, and military personnel.

\n

· Identify technical issues, support troubleshooting efforts, and document lessons learned.

\n

· Prepare post-test reports, technical recommendations, and engineering summaries.

\n

Customer & Team Collaboration

\n

· Interface directly with government customers, engineering teams, and fleet personnel.

\n

· Prepare technical presentations, status updates, and civilian and military executive briefings.

\n

· Support proposal development, technical reviews, and customer demonstrations.

\n

· Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, test execution, and documentation.
