Job description

They’re looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer with strong Oracle experience to join a highly skilled engineering team, supporting and enhancing bespoke software solutions where reliability, security and performance are critical.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting stuck into complex technical challenges, working across modern infrastructure and development environments, and having genuine ownership of the reliability and performance of production systems. You’ll work across application support, infrastructure, automation and reliability, helping to ensure systems remain secure, highly available and performant.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Supporting and enhancing business-critical applications
  • Troubleshooting complex production issues and leading incident response
  • Carrying out root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes
  • Working extensively with Oracle, ideally including DBA responsibilities and PL/SQL development
  • Working with Kubernetes, OpenShift and Docker
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
  • Working with public cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, GCP and/or OCI
  • Automating infrastructure and configuration using tools such as Ansible
  • Working extensively within Linux environments, including scripting, networking and system administration
  • Using Git as part of a modern development and deployment workflow
  • Working with NoSQL and object-based technologies such as Elasticsearch
  • Exploring and adopting new technologies, including emerging AI tools and technologies

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with a strong background in SRE, DevOps, production engineering or infrastructure engineering, combined with solid Oracle experience. You don’t need to tick every single box. If you have a strong core SRE/DevOps background and particularly good Oracle experience, we’d still be keen to hear from you., Due to the nature of the work, you must be a UK national and either already hold SC clearance or be willing and eligible to obtain it.

Benefits & conditions

  • £70,000-£80,000 salary
  • Permanent position
  • London-based
  • Opportunity to work on technically challenging and highly secure projects
  • Modern cloud, containerisation and automation technologies
  • Strong learning and development opportunities
  • Collaborative engineering environment
  • The opportunity to work with emerging AI technologies alongside established enterprise technology

About the company

We’re working in partnership with a leading technology and engineering organisation that delivers secure, innovative solutions into the UK Government and Defence sector.
