Job description

As Information Management Lead, you’ll be responsible for creating and embedding the programme’s information management approach.

Working closely with digital, engineering, commercial and project delivery teams, you’ll establish the systems, standards and governance needed to ensure information is secure, accessible, compliant and trusted.

We’re looking for someone who has experience of building or transforming an information management function, framework, team or operating model within a large, complex or regulated environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing and executing the programme’s Information Management strategy.
  • Establishing information governance, document control and data management standards.
  • Creating a single source of truth for programme information and design records.
  • Defining and governing information security, classification and retention requirements.
  • Establishing supplier assurance processes and ensuring compliance with agreed standards.
  • Leading the implementation and ongoing management of information management systems and tools.
  • Embedding information management requirements across project teams and supply chain partners.
  • Providing leadership, coaching and guidance to project teams and future information management resources.

Requirements

  • Proven experience establishing or transforming an Information Management, Document Control, Records Management or Digital Information function.
  • Experience implementing information management systems, processes and governance frameworks from a low level of maturity or within a start-up programme environment.
  • Experience working on major infrastructure, construction, engineering or capital delivery programmes.
  • Strong understanding of information governance, data management and document control principles.
  • Experience working with Common Data Environments (CDEs), EDMS platforms and digital collaboration tools.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and change.

Desirable

  • Experience of ISO 19650, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001.
  • Experience implementing ISO19650 information management requirements.
  • Experience leading or developing Information Management teams.
  • Water, utilities, transport, energy or other regulated industry experience.
  • Knowledge of GIS, Digital Twin or wider digital delivery technologies., * Degree qualified or equivalent experience in Information Management, Information Science, Records Management or a related discipline.
  • Relevant professional qualification or accreditation desirable.
  • Project Management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent) advantageous.
