Job description

We’re hiring a Desktop & Client Support Technician to provide technical support for end-user devices, software, peripherals, and audio visual (AV) equipment across WakeMed locations. In this role, you’ll help ensure a seamless technology experience for our team members by troubleshooting issues, supporting hardware deployments, maintaining AV systems, and delivering exceptional customer service.

What you’ll do

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, mobile devices, peripherals, and AV equipment across the organization.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to end users in person, remotely, by phone, and through email to resolve hardware and software issues quickly and effectively.
  • Support and maintain audio visual and video conferencing technologies, including cameras, projectors, display screens, microphones, and conference room equipment.
  • Coordinate with the IT Service Desk, Network Services, Infrastructure Services, IT Security, and other technology teams to resolve issues and ensure operational excellence.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, device lifecycle management, print queue support, hard drive encryption, degaussing, and other technical support activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Two years of experience supporting technology in an Information Services environment and working within a large-scale user environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows-based workstations, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, and AV technologies.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
  • Healthcare or multi-hospital system experience and networking-related certifications are a plus.
