Software Engineer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Software Engineer for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in the DMV area.

Looking for a Senior software engineer for a contract role. The firm is a leading regulatory authority, with multi-tier applications on the cloud (AWS). Successful candidates will be strong software developers with high-level knowledge Java fundamentals, Spring/Springboot, Python/Typescript, SQL, and AWS.

Responsibilities :

• Work with product owners and architects to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios.
• Develop solutions that are highly available, durable, scalable, and cost efficient.
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community.
• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related discipline with at least 7 years’ experience in Java.
• Significant experience with
• JAVA core fundamentals
• Spring/Springboot
• SQL
• Python/Typescript
• REST
• Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, databases and operating systems.
• Java & J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, REST API
• SQL, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL(Aurora)
• Python/Typescript
• Amazon Web Services

Preferred Skills :

• Experience with AWS is highly preferred
• DevOps skills (i.e. Docker, Jenkins Jobs, Continuous Integration exp., etc.)
