Design Engineer

• Design & Engineering: Create and modify detailed part drawings and 3-D models using CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred) to meet customer specifications and manufacturing ease. Review designs and Bills of Material (BOMs) for accuracy and manufacturability. Daily tasks include mold design, reverse engineering customer parts, and supporting new urethane machine implementation. Success looks like accurate mold designs, effective knowledge transfer, and improved manufacturing efficiency.
• Collaboration & Support: Work closely onsite with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, sales, and R&D teams to ensure engineering solutions meet operational and customer needs. Provide technical support and troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, especially related to urethane processes.
• Product Customization: Customize standard pump designs and engineering data to fulfill specific customer requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal guidelines. Assist sales with cost estimates, mold costing, and technical product recommendations.
• Quality & Inspection: Examine products at various manufacturing stages, especially first articles, to maintain quality and reliability. Investigate design alternatives and perform engineering analysis as needed.
• Data Management: Input and revise product structure design data to formulate and maintain accurate BOMs. Utilize Teamcenter PLM software and other tools to manage engineering documentation.
• Travel Requirements: Minimal to no travel expected; primary work location is the Townley manufacturing facility in Belleview, FL.
• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture., * Prior exposure to industrial slurry pump, flotation, and pipe manufacturing or related mechanical equipment industries.
• Polymer (urethane) experience and familiarity with pre-polymer processes.
• Reverse engineering experience and manufacturing engineering background.
• Experience supporting sales quoting, costing activities, and CNC programming support.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in pump or rotating equipment design.
• Proficiency in CAD and 3D solid modeling tools, with SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in manufacturing environments and BOM management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hands-on manufacturing setting, with a strong focus on safety and PPE compliance.
