Job description
We are seeking an experienced Agile Coaches/RTEs to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong history of successfully guiding Agile teams in software development projects. In these roles, you will collaborate closely with client teams to facilitate Agile processes, ensure adherence to Scrum principles, and foster continuous improvement. As an RTE you will be a people manager with up to ~6 direct reports. You will coach your teams on Agile delivery, oversee resource allocation, and monitor capacity while ensuring that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met for outsourced development teams, which include a mix of onshore and offshore developers.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Program & Portfolio Execution
- Ensure strong alignment between program execution, portfolio strategy, and enterprise roadmaps
- Lead Program Increment (PI) and quarterly planning events aligned with organizational priorities
- Orchestrate system demos, Inspect & Adapt sessions, and cross-team execution ceremonies
- Run quarterly planning cadences in partnership with Process and Client Leads
- Proactively resolve escalations and manage dependencies across teams and portfolios
- Own program-level KPIs, release governance, and risk burndown
- Track and analyze delivery metrics, including:
- Sprint metrics (velocity, burndown)
- Team commitments and capacity management
- Flow, throughput, WIP, and impediment trends
Metrics, Governance & Outcomes
- Define and maintain outcome-focused metrics at the program and portfolio level
- Measure and improve predictability through dependency tracking and bottleneck analysis
- Establish and monitor release governance and cross-team performance indicators
- Use quantitative and qualitative data to drive informed decision-making
Enterprise Transformation & Scaling
- Facilitate enterprise-wide workshops and large-scale planning sessions
- Design, standardize, and scale facilitation patterns across the organization
- Define and maintain Center of Excellence (CoE) standards, playbooks, and training
- Shape and advise on enterprise scaling approaches, frameworks, and guardrails
- Lead program-level and enterprise change initiatives and institutionalize improvements
- Architect transformation roadmaps, governance models, and adoption strategies
Coaching & Leadership Development
- Coach cross-team and senior leaders to strengthen agile maturity and execution
- Mentor Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Business Analysts
- Model servant leadership and enable teams through coaching rather than micromanagement
- Ask powerful, open-ended questions that encourage learning, accountability, and ownership
- Challenge the status quo using a context-driven, pragmatic approach
Executive Engagement & Communication
- Partner with Directors and VPs to support cross-functional decision-making
- Advise executives on strategy, delivery trade-offs, and risk and financial considerations
- Communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Act as a trusted advisor focused on transparency, alignment, and outcomes
Requirements
- 7-10+ years of experience leading large-scale programs and enterprise Agile transformations
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of Agile principles, Scrum, SDLC, and scaling frameworks (e.g., SAFe, Kanban, DevOps)
- Proven ability to lead multiple teams, manage PI execution, resolve escalations, and facilitate system demos
- Experience tracking Agile delivery metrics, optimizing capacity, and managing resource allocation
- Demonstrated success coaching and mentoring Agile teams and leaders
- Experience working with clients and outsourced/offshore development partners in a consulting or professional services environment
- Ability to operate effectively across remote, distributed, and cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
- Technical background or strong familiarity with modern software development practices
