Software Engineer 3

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) is seeking a Software Engineer 3 to design, develop, and test operating-systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software. The position will be responsible for establishing operational specifications, formulating and analyzing software requirements, and may include the design and development of embedded systems software. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and test operating-systems-level software.
• Develop and support compiler-related software.
• Design and develop network distribution software.
• Establish and define operational specifications.
• Formulate and analyze software requirements.
• Design embedded systems software when required.
• Apply object-oriented programming principles.
• Develop unit tests and support software quality.
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
• Support Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
• Work collaboratively with development teams, peers, management, and customers.

• Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of experience, OR
• Master’s degree + 3 years of experience, OR
• Ph.D. + 0 years of experience.
• 4 years of related exempt experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
• 8 years of non-related exempt experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.

WORK ARRANGEMENT

$50.00 $63.00/hour NOOT Final compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. CONTRACT INFORMATION

• Contract Duration: 3 months
• Potential Conversion: HII notes that conversion from leased/contract employment may be possible after 90 days.
• Hours: 40 hours/week
