Software Engineer 1099

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Software Engineer III to join a high-impact technology transformation initiative supporting a leading financial institution. This role will focus on developing modern, cloud-native applications that support customer self-service, employee experience, and internal business operations as the organization continues its migration to AWS and works toward a long-term data center exit strategy.

This engineer will work across the full technology stack, developing user interfaces, APIs, backend services, and database solutions while helping modernize existing applications and build new capabilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning solutions from design through deployment, thrives in an Agile environment, and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software.

Day-to-day responsibilities include building and enhancing applications using React, Node.js, TypeScript, AWS services, and modern development practices, while contributing to CI/CD automation, cloud infrastructure, and overall application architecture. Candidates should be passionate about software quality and possess strong experience with testing, automation, and cloud-native development.

Strong experience developing applications with React

Professional experience with Node.js and TypeScript

Hands-on experience working within AWS cloud environments and AWS managed services

Full-stack development experience across front-end, APIs, backend services, and databases

Strong understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and ceremonies

Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing

Proven ability to take ownership of work, drive outcomes, and collaborate effectively with technical teams

Strong communication skills and ability to work independently while engaging with stakeholders

Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code

Experience with trunk-based development

Docker and Kubernetes experience

Experience with GitHub Actions and automated deployment pipelines

Python development experience

SQL and database development experience

Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, RDS, and SQS

Java and/or .NET experience

Financial services, banking, or lending industry experience

Experience supporting large-scale cloud migrations or data center exit initiatives

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
