Radiology Student Program

Mercy is seeking students for our Radiology Student Program within Healthcare & Medical Services. Under the guidance of experienced radiologic technologists, you’ll assist with imaging procedures, patient positioning, equipment preparation, and image processing while upholding strict safety and infection-control standards. Participants will gain hands-on experience across multiple imaging modalities, support accurate documentation in electronic health records, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team. This program offers structured learning, mentorship, and exposure to compassionate, patient-centered care in a leading Midwest healthcare system., * Assist technologists with patient preparation, positioning, and comfort for imaging exams

• Support safe operation and basic setup of radiologic imaging equipment under supervision
• Follow radiation safety and infection-control protocols at all times
• Help with image processing, quality checks, and transferring images to PACS/EHR systems
• Accurately document patient and procedure information in electronic health records
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and technologists to support efficient patient flow
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stocking of radiology rooms and work areas
• Participate in scheduled learning sessions, skills labs, and competency assessments
• Provide compassionate, respectful communication to diverse patient populations
• Uphold Mercy policies, privacy standards, and professional conduct expectations
