Senior Software Engineer

In this Senior Software Engineer role within Pearson’s AI Learning Capabilities for English Language Learning, you design and deliver backend systems that fuse AI and LLM capabilities into learning products. You work with cross-functional teams to turn product ideas into scalable, secure services. You’ll lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and champion best practices across the SDLC, with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement. Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field Proven experience in software engineering principles, development processes, and industry trends for development and QA Hands-on experience with Python Proficiency in at least one modern cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure) Proficiency in software engineering best practices (code review, multi-stage testing, CI/CD) Experience with scalable development (Docker, Kubernetes) Strong problem-solving xqbhyrx and analytical skills with attention to detail Experience with data processing (build pipelines, data versioning) Working experience in Agile practices, product and project management principles Commitment to inclusivity and diversity in the workplace Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels Experience in diverse, remote, asynchronous teams Proficiency in written and spoken English Strong communication Collaborative mindset Mentoring and leadership Python Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) CI/CD
