Programmer

ProSearch is seeking a Programmer (Specialist) in Augusta, Maine to support enterprise database applications, Oracle development, SQL and PL/SQL programming, ETL processes, data warehouse operations, and production data systems for a large-scale business environment. This opportunity is ideal for a senior database developer with expertise in Oracle databases, SQL, PL/SQL, ETL development, data warehousing, data integration, production support, and performance optimization who enjoys solving complex data challenges and ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of critical business systems. In this role, you’ll work across application development, database programming, production support, data quality validation, and warehouse operations. You’ll help maintain and enhance complex data-processing solutions, troubleshoot production issues, optimize database performance, and support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize complex Oracle database applications and data-processing solutions.
• Write, analyze, and tune advanced SQL queries, PL/SQL procedures, packages, triggers, and functions.
• Monitor scheduled and ad hoc data loads, validate results, and resolve data-quality issues.
• Support ETL processes, data transformations, batch processing, and enterprise data integrations.
• Investigate production incidents, identify root causes, implement fixes, and validate successful resolution.
• Analyze database and application performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend optimization strategies.
• Support data warehouses, reporting environments, and enterprise reporting dependencies.
• Perform unit, integration, system, regression, and data-validation testing.
• Create and maintain technical, operational, and support documentation.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, database administrators, project teams, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.

• 7+ years of application development, database programming, and production support experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle databases, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Experience building and supporting data warehouses, ETL processes, and large-scale data environments.
• Advanced proficiency with Oracle relational database technologies.
• Experience developing PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and complex stored program units.
• Strong experience analyzing and optimizing SQL and PL/SQL performance.
• Experience troubleshooting database applications and resolving production issues.
• Knowledge of data integration, data transformation, batch processing, and data-loading operations.
• Experience with source code management, software deployments, and SDLC best practices.

• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred

• Experience supporting enterprise reporting and analytics environments.
• Experience with dimensional data models and source-to-target data mapping.
• Background in large-scale production database environments.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders and end users.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
